Content Policy

1. Overview
Connect is a place for communities to discuss ideas, share knowledge, and connect with people who share their interests. To keep the platform worth using, everyone must follow this Content Policy alongside our Terms of Service.
This policy has two tiers:
- Absolute prohibitions — content that is never allowed, regardless of context, community rules, or framing. Violations result in immediate and permanent action.
- Prohibited conduct — behaviors that degrade the platform experience and will result in enforcement action scaled to severity and recurrence.
Community moderators may set additional rules for their specific communities, but they cannot override or relax this site-wide policy. If a community's rules conflict with this policy, this policy takes precedence.
2. Absolute Prohibitions
The following content is banned from Connect unconditionally. There is no context, artistic framing, or community rule that makes it acceptable. Violations will result in immediate permanent account termination and, where required by law, reporting to appropriate authorities.
Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
Any sexual content involving minors — including written, drawn, simulated, or photographic content. We report all confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate fully with law enforcement.
Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII)
Sharing, distributing, or linking to intimate images or videos of real people without their consent — including "revenge porn," secretly recorded content, and deepfakes of a sexual nature.
Incitement to Real-World Violence
Content that directly encourages, recruits for, or facilitates acts of terrorism, mass violence, or targeted attacks against individuals or groups.
Content That Endangers Minors
Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers children — including grooming behavior, predatory contact, or sharing minors' personal information.
3. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are prohibited across all of Connect. Enforcement action — from warnings to permanent bans — will be applied based on severity and context.
Harassment & Targeted Abuse
Repeated, sustained personal attacks against a specific user — including threatening messages, coordinated pile-ons, and content designed to make someone fear for their safety. Criticism of public figures and ideas is allowed; targeted harassment of individuals is not.
Hate Speech
Content that dehumanizes people based on protected characteristics including race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status. This includes slurs used as attacks, calls for discrimination, and content that portrays groups as subhuman.
Doxxing
Sharing private personal information about another person without their consent — including home address, workplace, phone number, financial details, or medical records — with the intent to expose, harm, or harass them.
Spam & Manipulation
Unsolicited bulk messages, repetitive low-value posts, misleading links, coordinated inauthentic behavior, vote manipulation rings, and the use of bots or automation to artificially inflate engagement.
Impersonation
Pretending to be another real person, brand, or organization in a way that is misleading — including using similar usernames, avatars, or bio text to deceive others. Parody accounts are allowed if they are clearly labeled as such.
Misinformation That Causes Harm
Deliberately spreading false information that could cause real-world harm — including false medical guidance, fabricated emergency alerts, and electoral misinformation designed to suppress participation.
Malware & Phishing
Posting links to malicious software, credential-harvesting pages, or scams designed to steal user data or money.
Evasion of Enforcement
Creating new accounts or using existing accounts to evade a suspension, ban, or content removal. This includes using alternate accounts to continue harassing someone after being blocked.
4. Community-Specific Rules
Individual communities on Connect may set their own rules in addition to this policy. Community rules are set by moderators and displayed in each community's sidebar.
Community rules can be more restrictive than this policy (e.g., a writing community requiring posts to be on-topic, or a support community requiring a respectful tone). They cannot be less restrictive — a community cannot declare itself exempt from the prohibitions in this policy.
Users who violate community-specific rules may be removed from that community at the moderators' discretion. Site-wide rule violations are handled by Beezifi regardless of community context.
5. Moderator Standards
Moderators are trusted to keep their communities healthy. With that trust comes responsibility. Moderators must:
- Enforce Connect's site-wide Content Policy within their communities;
- Apply their community's rules consistently and without personal bias;
- Not use moderator tools to retaliate against users for personal reasons;
- Not remove content or ban users based on viewpoint alone when that viewpoint is within site-wide rules;
- Not solicit or accept compensation in exchange for moderation decisions;
- Not share private reports or user information outside of the moderation context.
Moderators who abuse their position — including using moderation tools to harass users or weaponize community rules against individuals — will lose their moderation privileges and may have their account suspended.
6. Advertiser Content Rules
Ads on Connect must meet the standards of the platform. All ad creatives are subject to review. The following are prohibited in advertising content:
- False or deceptive claims about products or services;
- Adult content, nudity, or sexually suggestive material;
- Ads for illegal products or services (e.g., unlicensed pharmaceuticals, counterfeit goods, illegal weapons);
- Ads that target or are inappropriately directed at minors;
- Political advertising without required disclosures;
- Ads that mimic platform UI elements to deceive users into clicking;
- Ads containing hate speech, harassment, or content that violates any section of this policy.
Ads that are rejected will not be charged. Advertisers who repeatedly submit prohibited content will have their advertiser account suspended.
7. Sensitive Content
Some content is not prohibited but requires appropriate context or labeling:
Graphic or Disturbing Content
Content depicting real-world violence, gore, or disturbing imagery may be allowed in relevant communities (e.g., journalism, medical education) but must be marked with a content warning. Gratuitous or shock-value gore with no informational purpose should not be posted.
Adult Content
Explicit sexual content between adults is only permitted in communities that are specifically designated as adult communities, verified as such by Beezifi, and appropriately gated. This content must not appear in the main feed or in communities accessible to users who have not opted in.
Mental Health & Self-Harm
Discussions about mental health, depression, and self-harm are valuable and welcome. However, detailed descriptions of methods of self-harm or suicide that could serve as instructions are not permitted. Communities focused on mental health support must follow Safe Messaging Guidelines.
Controversial Topics
Connect is a place for debate and discussion of controversial political, social, and philosophical topics. Content is not removed simply because it is controversial or unpopular — only when it crosses into prohibited conduct such as harassment, hate speech, or misinformation that causes harm.
8. Enforcement
We enforce this policy through a combination of automated systems, community moderator action, and review by the Beezifi Trust & Safety team.
| Violation Type | Severity | Typical Action |
|---|---|---|
| Minor rule violation (first offense) | Low | Content removed; warning issued |
| Spam, repeated minor violations | Medium | Temporary suspension (1–30 days) |
| Harassment, doxxing, hate speech, ban evasion | High | Permanent account ban |
| Absolute prohibitions (CSAM, NCII, incitement) | Critical | Immediate permanent ban + law enforcement referral |
We aim to be consistent, but enforcement decisions are context-dependent. Identical content may be treated differently based on the surrounding context, intent, and the user's history on the platform.
9. Appeals
If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned incorrectly, you may appeal the decision:
- Community-level actions (post removal, community ban) — contact the community's moderators first. If you believe a moderator has abused their role, report it to Beezifi via trust@beezifi.com;
- Platform-level actions (account suspension, ban) — email appeals@beezifi.com with your username and a description of why you believe the action was incorrect.
Appeals are reviewed by a member of the Trust & Safety team not involved in the original decision. We aim to respond within 5 business days. Decisions on absolute prohibition violations are final and not subject to appeal.
10. Reporting
If you see content that violates this policy, please report it:
- In-app reporting — use the report button (⋯ menu) on any post, comment, or user profile. This is the fastest way to flag content for review;
- Email — for urgent safety concerns or if in-app reporting is unavailable, contact trust@beezifi.com;
- DMCA — for copyright violations, see the DMCA section in our Terms of Service.
All reports are reviewed. We may not be able to share the outcome of a report due to privacy considerations, but every report helps us keep the platform safe.
